Surgical experience of the OrganOx metra presented at the BTS Annual Congress

David Nasralla presented an oral abstract at the British Transplantation Society Annual Congress in Glasgow today, reviewing surgical experience with the OrganOx metra. The oral abstract was titled "Surgical experience of normothermic machine perfusion in human liver transplantation" and reviewed the logistical impact and surgical expertise that has emerged during 100 normothermically preserved livers, based on clinical studies at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and King's College Hospital, London.

David also presented a poster at the same meeting; some clinical experience with marginal DCD livers using the OrganOx metra, titled "Normothermic Machine Perfusion in Marginal DCD livers - improving organ utilisation, changing outcomes". The results are from 2 clinical trials performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
